I started building the site and looking around for hosting. I contacted a fellow who had built a similar site previously. I was always impressed with how his site seemed to always be up. "So far I'm more than satisfied, and think you offer a kick-ass service for a very reasonable price! I spent 3 18 hour days solid studying IPPs websites, and only found about 1 of 5 that made the 2nd pass list. Out of about 50 to 80 hosters, there were only about 4 that I might have went with. You were the first one who's check marks filled all of my requirement columns, so, after 3 days of that, I went with you. The main reasons, beside boredom, was that you appeared to offer: - Good PHONE SUPPORT, which I haven't tried because of your excellent docs. I have my site up and running, and caprifleet.com propagated in less than a day, & haven't needed ANY type of support! But when I do, if it's something I feel I need an answer on quick, or if other support fails, I DO want to have the option of picking up the phone and talking to a real human who can get me an answer from he who knows! Places of any kind without phone support give me the creeps. - Your direct backbone connection. After getting my site up, I can see your response time IS indeed fast. - LINUX. Not that it probably matters much from a user's point of view, but it means that you don't have a OS supplier to rip you off, make your OS obsolete, give do-you-a-favor lousy support, and rip you off some more for new versions every few years, which means you will probably provide me with more and better services while passing part of the OS savings on to me. It also means I would be more familiar with your system on a Telnet or possibly a "C" CGI level if needed. Besides it tells me that you can think independently. - 30 day trial/no setup fee - means you're probably not worried about disappointment causing people to tell you to go take a hike."
